Leading Analyst Firm, Taneja Group, Positions AutoVirt as Leader in Network-Attached Storage (NAS) Management Space

NASHUA, N.H. July 26, 2011

AutoVirt , the leading provider of data migration and Global Namespace solutions, today announced the availability of a new Taneja Group research report entitled, "AutoVirt: NAS Management Redefined" in which Taneja Group positions AutoVirt as a leader in the network-attached storage (NAS) management space.  The report opens by drilling-down into the primary reasons unstructured data sprawl has remained a top challenge for data centers.  The first reason is limited visibility into the stored data, resulting in an inability to apply intelligent data-aware policies across the entire NAS environment.  The second is a lack of a transparent asset-independent referral system across all file sharing resources, making it difficult to assess, relocate and reorganize data without service disruptions.  The third is a general lack of tools to handle ongoing data mobility functions such as migration, storage tiering and data replication without extensive disruption, scripting and/or customization.  The remainder of the report provides an overview of AutoVirt software technology and details how it enables its users to overcome these challenges, including AutoVirt’s unique Global Namespace and virtualization technology, out-of-band deployment, heterogeneous support, policy-based management and deployment agility.
