Miami-Dade School Board Invests in Websites That Are Accessible to Americans with Disabilities

Miami, FL, July 21, 2019 –(PR.com)– Inreact is 1 of the 20 selected agencies on the pre-approved vendor list for all 392 Miami-Dade Public Schools.

The pre-approved vendor list was created to streamline the quoting process for Miami-Dade Public Schools (MDCPS) need for responsive and more accessible websites as per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design. These standards state that all electronic and information technology must be accessible to people with disabilities.

“The internet is the main resource for most of the population in Miami-Dade. Websites need to be ADA-compliant to ensure that all audiences can easily retrieve information,” says Inreact’s president, Ann Nuñez.

Previously MDCPS invested $318,940 on website development contracts during the 2017-2018 fiscal year. This coming year, the Procurement Management Services has budgeted a total estimated amount of $3,000,000 for the initial contract term and an amount not to exceed $1,000,000 for each subsequent one (1) year extension period.

About the Winner:
Inreact is women/minority-owned, app development, web design & online marketing agency in Coral Gables, Florida. Inreact has been established for 12 years and has worked with various notable organizations such as the University of Miami, Deering Estate, and the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces.

About the MDCPS Pre-Approved Vendor List:
Procurement Management Services, at the request of School Operations, released an Invitation to Bid (ITB) to establish a pre-approved vendor list for design, development, support, and maintenance of ADA compliant websites at Miami-Dade County Public Schools. This term bid states that the Board may purchase services, as may be needed, but is not obligated to purchase any guaranteed amount. This ITB was advertised on the Procurement Management Services and DemandStar websites. The solicitation was shared with District offices for additional community outreach, and its various media platforms, including but not limited to social media, local newspapers, local radio stations, and prior bid forecasting lists.
