New App Released on iTunes to Meet Demand for On-the-Go Sleep Help

"A question we get asked a lot about our self-help CD programs is: Is there an app for that?," says Cindy Stalnaker, President of Health Journeys. "Since insomnia is the number one issue people come to us about, introducing Sleep Help as our first iTunes app was an easy decision."

The Sleep Help by Health Journeys app was adapted from their popular Healthful Sleep audio, into a self-contained app for the iPhone, iTouch and is also compatible with the iPad. It has all the functions that people have come to expect from an audio device; select a track, play, stop, etc. But the added value of the app comes from a button on the device screen that links users to a specially formatted page of insomnia-fighting sleep tips.

According to Belleruth Naparstek, the Healthful Sleep program creator, "I wrote this guided imagery to create a rich atmosphere of protection and safety, with images that are evocative enough to successfully compete with all the internal brain chatter that keeps us up. Steve Kohn’s music draws mind, body and spirit down into deep, restful sleep."

"Too often guided imagery programs like Healthful Sleep end up mixed in a play list with assorted musical tracks on MP3 players," adds Stalnaker. "This app allows users to easily find and utilize this valuable sleep program at bedtime."

Integrated Computer Systems (INCOM) teamed with Health Journeys to develop the Sleep Help app. "This project was a lot of fun to work on," says INCOM president, Jon Lorenzo. "I never say this about the apps I develop, but I’m confident that this one will put users right to sleep."

The Sleep Help app can be downloaded from iTunes for $11.99. It’s available for the iPhone, iTouch, and is also compatible with the iPad.
