Hamburg, July 16, 2009 – XING, Europe’s leading online business network, is extending the range of networking capabilities available to its paying Premium Members. With file attachment uploads for members’ profiles and automatic birthday reminders by email, XING is now offering professional networkers two additional features designed to enable them to make use of the platform even more effectively.
XING Premium Members can now present their professional expertise and experience more clearly and comprehensively than ever before, thanks to new file attachments enabled for personal profiles. Anyone wishing to make their CV, work samples or references available to potential clients, for instance, can now incorporate these documents directly into their XING profile. Each Premium Member can upload a maximum of three files of up to 2 MB in size each.
Birthday reminders are also being introduced, automatically informing Premium Members by email whenever their personal XING contacts are celebrating their birthday – and including a link allowing members to send a message of congratulations. This launch is in response to extremely frequent requests for this feature from members.
“Development work on our professional network is always ongoing. This is true both of basic features and of our Premium features. Our strategic aim here is clear: to establish XING as a business platform used by an ever greater number of professionals in their daily working lives,” said Dr. Stefan Gross-Selbeck, CEO of XING AG.
XING can be used free-of-charge by registering as a basic member, or subscribed to for 5.95 euros per month, providing access to all Premium features available on the platform. This subscription rate has remained the same since the online launch of the professional network six years ago. Since 2003, the business network’s membership base has been growing on a continuous basis. More than 7.5 million business professionals are currently registered on XING. And with more than 600 thousand Premium networkers, XING has the most paying members of any online network in the world.
