Troy, NY (PRWEB) February 14, 2012
eLot Recycling, Inc, a full-service recycling company, today unveiled a new, comprehensive light bulb recycling plant for New York State and the surrounding regions. The new plant recycles any type of lamp or light bulb including toxic HID, compact fluorescents (CFLs) and will serve the entire Northeast’s commercial sector. Any residential or commercial business, municipality, hospital, school and university that has an excess of waste bulbs or any type of replacement bulbs can enlist eLot to pick up and recycle the materials at the most affordable cost as it is now encouraged by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).
eLot already recycles much of the Northeast’s electronic materials such as computers and printers in addition to batteries, all of which are now banned from landfills by the DEC. Commercial companies are obligated to recycle all electronic waste and batteries with certified organizations like eLot. Adding lamp and light bulbs to this process has never been easier.
“Our organization recycles thousands of fluorescent bulbs each year, prior to working with eLot the process was complicated and frustrating,” said Natalie Roberts, SUNY Plattsburgh. “eLot takes the hassle out of light bulb recycling with easy communication to make pickups smoother. They have truly helped make SUNY Plattsburgh a leading green company.”
“We are always looking for greener ways to do things and eLot has helped us get there. Since 2008 we have been a regular eLot customer, safely recycling thousands of fluorescent bulbs,” said Gary Dake, president, Stewart’s Shops. “They have been an asset in our recycling efforts.”
eLot implemented the Balcan MP6000 Lamp Recycling Plant, the highest-rated machine in light bulb recycling out of the United Kingdom. To date, only two other plants like it exist in the U.S., the closest being Texas. While other competitive plants may claim to do the same, in fact, eLot’s capabilities are the only to have the capacity to process in excess of 3,000 4-foot fluorescent tubes per hour (between 6 and 8 million per annum). Whole lamps in addition to pre-crushed lamps can be loaded directly into the secondary multipurpose unit of the plant to accelerate increased throughput. The whole plant fits in an area of 7.5m x 13.5m and is located in Troy.
