Cogent Real-Time Systems and Nissin Systems Co. Ltd of Kyoto, Japan, announced today that they will be offering a special package of the Cogent DataHub® for device servers installed on the Lantronix® XPort Pro® device server. This combination of hardware and software will provide unprecedented access to live data streaming from embedded devices into web browsers, cell phones, databases, and Microsoft® Windows® programs like Excel®.
“Connecting the XPort Pro to the Cogent DataHub gives developers direct access to their data in ways they’ve never seen before,” said Mr. Shoji Tasaki, Product & FAE Manager at Nissin Systems. “We see good potential here for M2M (machine to machine) applications as well as medical products.”
“Using the Cogent DataHub widens the range of possibilities for data access and visualization,” said Andrew Thomas, President of Cogent Real-Time Systems. “Now anyone can quickly build a web page with DataHub WebView™ to display trends, gauges, and other controls powered by data from any device connected to XPort Pro.”
The XPort Pro from Lantronix is a thumb-sized device with a built-in RJ-45 Ethernet connector that converts serial data signals into TCP for networking or Internet connectivity. Its 32-bit processor can run the Linux or Lantronix Evolution OS to enable M2M edge computing and real-time connectivity with the Cogent DataHub.
The Cogent DataHub is an integrated tool that can present live process data directly on an engineer’s or manager’s desk in a form most suitable: database, spreadsheet, or web page. Its built-in web HMI, DataHub WebView, uses Microsoft® Silverlight® technology to provide an easy way to create visually stunning web pages for displaying real-time data.
Nissin System’s combination of XPort Pro hardware and Cogent DataHub software allows serial data from any device to be easily displayed live in a web page or Excel spreadsheet, logged to a database, or integrated in with any M2M system.
