AUSTIN, Texas Jan. 25, 2011 Monday, January 31, 2011

Texas

At the beginning of each legislative session, invited schools set up their classrooms in the Capitol. Throughout the day, they conduct class just as they do every day in their home districts.  This year students, utilizing both PCs and Macs, will be working with video and sound editing, robotics, iPods, iPads, online virtual learning environments, one-to-one laptop computing, online interactive learning and other educational technologies.

Legislators and invited guests have the opportunity to venture through actual classrooms to observe and experience educational technology in use by teachers and students. "The students are eager to show their Representatives and Senators how these tools are used in the education process and how much they benefit from their use," Jolly concluded.

Participating districts include: Amarillo ISD, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Irving ISD, Klein ISD, Manor ISD, Ysleta ISD, Floydada ISD, Coleman ISD, San Saba ISD, Pasadena ISD, and the Texas School for the Deaf.  Remote schools include Stockdale ISD, Alief ISD, Valley Mills ISD and Panhandle ISD. Corporate sponsors include Apple, Wexford Institute, NxVentures, Time Warner Cable, Texas Virtual Learning Network, AMD, Connections Academy and Virtual Drive Driver Education.

Moontoast Powers NAMG’s Social Commerce With Distributed Storefronts

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Jan. 25, 2011

Moontoast joins forces with companies to create distributed storefronts that can be embedded or shared anywhere online, including the social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter. The distributed stores enable shopping transactions to be completed anywhere on the social networks, so customers can quickly and easily complete purchases without being redirected to a separate e-commerce store.  Moontoast's social commerce solution makes finding, buying, and sharing great deals across the social web simple.  Deals spread fast, growing a base of fans and followers through likes and shares while boosting sales.

Blair Heavey

When the North American Membership Group, an affinity-based retailer, began expanding sales to the social web, their research led them to Moontoast.  Moontoast's social commerce platform provides the ease of use and functionality that NAMG requires to power sales through Facebook and Twitter.

Chad Cox

NAMG currently houses Moontoast-distributed stores on the Facebook pages of four of their member-based organizations – North American Hunting Club, North American Fishing Club, Handyman Club of America, and Inside Track and offers flash deals on a weekly basis, selling products directly to their members via Facebook.

The Hunting Club has enjoyed success by using Moontoast to offer a unique deal to its members each Tuesday, allowing members to take advantage of exclusive opportunities to purchase gear and items of interest to the hunting community.  Members are able to share these deals with their friends through their own social networks, raising awareness of NAMG and in

Sierra Wireless adds industrial-grade HSPA+ and EV-DO wireless modules to its award-winning AirPrime™ SL Series

Form factor compatible 3G GSM and CDMA modules in compact LGA package enable manufacturers to make a single product design for multiple geographical markets

VANCOUVER Jan. 25

March 2010

The SL809x is one of the smallest HSPA+ modules in the industry: it offers multi-band HSPA+ technology (up to 14.4 Mbps for download and 5.7 Mbps for uplinks) and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE within a 25x30mm form factor. It features an extended temperature range, as well as voice, antenna diversity, and GPS. The AirPrime SL809x comes in two variants (SL8090 and SL8092), which cover two different sets of frequency bands for global coverage.

The AirPrime SL501x is a dual-band EV-DO Rev A module, form factor compatible with both 2G and 3G GSM products in the AirPrime SL Series. This means that device manufacturers can use a single hardware design in different geographical markets. It offers data speeds up to 3.1Mbps on the downlink and up to 1.8Mbps on the uplink. It is industrial-grade with an extended temperature range, and supports GPS. The AirPrime SL501x also comes in two variants: The SL5010 supports voice and data, while the SL5011 is a data only module.

The AirPrime SL809x and SL501x are optimized for applications requiring high bandwidth and operating in rough environments, such as security and video surveillance systems, mobile healthcare devices, and industrial terminals. Panasonic Introduces Stylish and Ultra-Compact LUMIX FX78 Digital Camera With Full-HD Video Capabilities

SECAUCUS, N.J. Jan. 25, 2011

The LUMIX FX78's Smart Touch Screen allows for the Auto Focus (AF) to be set by simply touching the subject on the LCD and a touch can even release the shutter. Once locked on the subject, the LUMIX FX78 tracks the subject with the AF tracking function even if it moves. With the Intelligent Scene Selector in the iA mode, the FX78 automatically switches to the appropriate mode according to the subject touched. For example, a touch on a human face switches to the portrait mode, and a touch on the background or a landscape changes to the Scenery mode, while a touch on the subject close in the foreground changes to Macro mode. All menu settings are now available with touch control. The touch-screen operation excels not only for shooting, but also in playback, allowing the user to drag the images across the screen with a finger and browse the collection of photos as though flipping the pages of the book.

David Briganti

The LUMIX FX78 also features the Panasonic 3D Photo mode, which produces a realistic 3D photo by taking 20 consecutive photos and overlaying the two best to create a 3D  image that can then be played on a Panasonic VIERA 3D HDTV. The format of 3D images is compatible with MPO, and can also be played back on other MPO-compatible equipment such as a televisions, digital photo frames and printers.  Panasonic also adds the LUMIX Image Uploader, for seamless and instant sharing via Facebook (for digital photos) or YouTube (for videos). Legends Business Group Releases Details of the Public Power Challenge

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. Jan. 25, 2011

The details of the power challenge are:

A PUBLIC POWER CHALLENGE

Legends Power is making a public POWER challenge and YOU may be the one to meet the need!

Miami Beach, Florida

What we are offering:

Legends Power is offering a chance to turn some lucky inventor, garage tinkerer or weekend mechanic into a businessman and, most likely, a very wealthy one at that. The approved device we select will be meticulously analyzed; its design will be finished into a commercial version that can be mass produced and sold. Legends will then take that device into the market.

The approved device's creator will not be required to invest into any of the process to get their device to market. He/She will be guaranteed a share of the profits derived from the sales of that device for as long as it is being sold by Legends Power.

What we are looking for:

* A stand-alone mechanical or chemical based device that produces AT LEAST 100 watts of continuous AC or DC power at 12 volts or more. This means that a 100 volt device that produces 1 amp qualifies just like a 12 volt device producing 9 amps. This power must be reasonably steady in its output values and would be considered qualified if it can sustain this power for a period of AT LEAST 30 days.

* You will need to provide the device itself along a written documentation or layout of what it took you to build it. Details would include schematics, parts lists and processes. The device itself will be used as a basis to create the commercial version based on your documentation combined with our expertise in production manufacturing.
