Payoneer’s employee-centric culture, global diversity and open work environment create a one-of-a-kind workplace
New York City (PRWEB) October 06, 2015
Payoneer Inc., a leading online payments company transforming the way businesses send and receive cross-border payments, has been named to Crain’s 2015 list of “Best Places to Work in New York City.” The list highlights companies that have taken decisive steps to create a workplace where employees are collegial, inspired by their work, empowered to take initiative and are given due credit for their work.
“We’re very proud to have made it onto Crain’s list of best places to work, as we place an emphasis on creating the right environment for our employees,” said Scott Galit, CEO of Payoneer. “Since Payoneer connects over 200 countries around the world, our team in New York must have a truly global understanding. Our employees come from a number of different countries, which creates an engaging environment where we are constantly learning from one another about other cultures and perspectives.”
At the core of the company is a warm, nurturing environment that gives the sense that everyone is “in it together.” The politics are minimal, and the management team leads by example, inspiring employees by focusing on creating a positive can-do atmosphere.
“We go to great lengths to make sure that new hires are not only committed, hardworking and caring of others, but can contribute to a dynamic environment and will make our office a more enjoyable place to work,” said Galit. “We recently hired an employee who has traveled to 62 countries, and he is only 25 years old. We look for the person who can bring a spirit of adventure and intellectual curiosity back to our office and can inspire and educate others.”
Despite Payoneer’s rapid growth in number of employees, the company tries to encourage close ties among the many functional groups in the office. Sophy Chen, a recent college graduate, commented, “I mentioned that China celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival this time of year, and before I knew it, people were working on creating an office event and sending teams to Chinatown to pick up supplies for an office lunch that included traditional Chinese moon-cakes and poetry reading. We all felt like one family, and next week I might be celebrating a different tradition from the other side of the world.”
Crain’s 2015 Best Places to Work in NYC will be numerically ranked and unveiled on the publication’s website on Dec. 4, and will appear in the Dec. 7 print edition.
