Pricetag is the brainchild of three industry professionals. Despite the decades of experience between them, they were often frustrated by the project bidding process. It was too slow, and too prone to inaccuracies. They knew there had to be a better way.
Inspired by 37Signals’ Rework, the founders decided to tackle this problem head on, and with as agile and flexible process as possible. They went from concept to launch in less than four months, working in the off hours from their day jobs. “Actually, not having the luxury of time was a benefit,” says founder and CEO Andres Garzon. “It ensured we made the most of the time we did have.”
Pricetag guides users through an easy, four step process of quote creation. It suggests roles for team members and common additional costs. It also provides sample text for project assumptions, terms and conditions, and other necessary—but often forgotten—addendums. It offers the flexibility of customization, thus ensuring that the quotes cover everything needed for each unique project. In fact, Pricetag is so flexible, it can easily be utilized by any companies that require project bidding, not just interactive agencies.
“Pricetag does everything we wanted it to do. It absolutely solved the problem in our workflow,” says founder and creative director Andy Pratt. “We’re sure it will do the same for everyone who uses it.”
