Profitwatch Meets Luxury Hotel’s High Expectations

The Trump name is synonymous with luxury and architectural excellence, and the newly opened Trump International Hotel and Towers in Toronto is no exception. With the motto, “There are some things you just can’t overdo…,” the newly opened 65-story five star hotel boasts 261 guest rooms opulently furnished with exquisite details bundled with exclusive amenities overlooking the city’s downtown financial and entertainment district.

In preparation for the grand opening, Trump Towers sought a phone system, property management system and call accounting solution that would meet their high expectations. Among multiple vendors and solution provider submissions, they chose Diavox Hospitality Media Gateway System and ProfitWatch Call Accounting to integrate with a new Aastra MX-ONE TSE Ver. 4.1 phone system.

ProfitWatch Call Accounting accurately tracks all call data for easy guest phone usage bill back, provides telemanagement features such as trunk analysis, automatable reporting, emergency alerts, and toll fraud detection to help properties reduce costs and liability, as well as generates revenue.

“We had heard good things about the system, and it was the most competitive in terms of pricing,” explains Modi Chami, Director of Information Technology for the hotels.

Carlos Sevilla, Technical Engineer of Diavox, installed their proprietary Hospitality Media Gateway System along with ProfitWatch, and supported Trump Towers to customize the applications to their needs. Chami stated he was impressed with Diavox’s assistance and their willingness to go above and beyond expectations to ensure customer satisfaction. When a minor licensing issue arose for a system outside of the Diavox scope, Sevilla was there to help. “His response was ‘don’t worry,’ and within a couple of hours, he had it up and running,” recalled Chami. “The service was really great.”

“We use it for the emergency calls,” states Chami. “Whenever 911 is dialed, we immediately receive an email with the extension that dialed and the location. The emergency response team checks the location to see what is going on.” The emergency call feature can be configured to use a unique identification alarm to assist with other types of emergencies as well, such as for floods or maintenance issues.

“I would definitely recommend ProfitWatch to other hotels,” remarked Chami. “The straightforward menus make it easy to manage and change things. You only need a little bit of training and you can do it on your own.”
