When new ink cartridges are installed, the metal contacts on the cartridge must meet the corresponding contacts on the cartridge holder.
When new ink cartridges are installed, they must be seated carefully so that the numerous metal contacts on the cartridge meet the corresponding contacts on the cartridge holder. When the cartridge is seated properly, the carriage will usually return to its “home” position. If the carriage will not return to the home position, then it may need to be reseated. If the problem persists, the electrical contacts may need to be wiped with a soft dry cloth. Remember to remove the protective tape covering the print nozzles.
