The data compiled by Smarp provides a snapshot of who are the most observed or followed celebrities as reported on twitter, evidencing their popularity and their favorite venues. Based on the data released for the months of January and February, Rihanna is the topmost checked-in celebrity, followed by Drake and Justin Bieber. The most checked-in TV celebrity is Kim Kardashian, followed by Snooki. The most reported political leaders are Barak Obama and Mitt Romney.
Smarp also released data showing the most reported celebrity venues. The Staples Center, house of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, is the venue that had the most celebrities check-ins. Katsuya Restaurant in Hollywood, Los Angeles, followed by Giorgio Baldi Restaurant, Santa Monica and The Wolseley in London are the most popular restaurants among celebrities. The most celebrated bar is The Oak in New York City, while the LIV nightclub in Miami Beach was the celebrity club of choice, and the Beverley Hills Hotel their favorite hotel in this award show season.
