Speck Design Consumer Products Group Rises With Growth, New Leadership

PALO ALTO, Calif. Feb. 9, 2011 Stephen Senatore

Elisa Jagerson Stephen Senatore

Senatore brings to Speck more than 15 years of experience in the development and deployment of high-end consumer product, as well as vast knowledge in high volume manufacturing.  Prior to Speck, Stephen worked with some of the Bay Area’s top companies, such as Apple, IDEO, Palm, and Barnes & Noble, resulting in product successes such as the Palm Centro, and Barnes & Noble Nook Color, among others.  In addition to his accomplishments in the Consumer arena, Stephen has a proven track record in the health practices,  human interaction, and sustainable technologies, specifically working with start-up Solfocus, where he was instrumental in the development of Concentrated Photo Voltaic Solar modules.

"Returning to a design consultancy wasn’t my expectation, but Speck Design offers an opportunity to break through industry stereotypes and client expectations, to engineer products that create real solutions and make design personal for end-users," said Senatore.  "This team will challenge notions in areas like sustainability, material choice and design responsibility to the product, end-user and customer.   We can explore boundaries in home healthcare and the youth market, where intuitive design has only begun to be applied to create desire as a hallmark of a successful product."
