Squirro creates a living collection of content that’s updated continuously and automatically in a simple, elegant digest that can be shared with colleagues and friends. More specific than search and broader than feeds, Squirro scans multiple sources to find the most relevant information on topics of interest and includes tools to clip, save and share. Squirro will offer integration with, SAP, Highrise and other enterprise applications to deliver related internal and external content with business data.

“While Squirro is great for work or play, it’s in the business space where ‘noise cancellation’ is critical. Squirro is designed to give people the ability to filter out irrelevance and harvest the content that matters most – with the simplicity, access and social capabilities of personal apps,” said Dr. Dorian Selz, co-founder of Squirro. “This funding – along with the experience of our investors – accelerates our ability to bring it to market.”

Nektoon also received backing from the Swiss-based Hasler Foundation, De Vigier Foundation and the Zürcher Kantonalbank.

About Squirro
Squirro is the personal digital research app. Broader than feeds and more specific than search, Squirro scans multiple sources from Internet channels and social media, private databases and even internal systems such as and SAP to find the most relevant information on your topic of interest, then updates it continuously and automatically. The result is a living collection of curated content you can save, synthesize and share with friends and colleagues in your own private workspace.

Squirro was developed by Nektoon AG, a team of passionate internet geeks and entrepreneurs with high ambitions: To simplify the everyday need to find, remember, organize and share important information. They created Squirro following Memonic, the award-winning, online note-taking app and the Swiss search engine
