Google builds prototype mirror for solar energy

San Francisco: Internet giant Google, has developed a prototype for a new mirror technology that could cut by half the cost of building a solar thermal plant. According to Bill Weihl, company's green energy czar if development and testing go well, he could see the product being ready in one to three years. "Things have progressed. We have an internal prototype" Weihl said in an interview, according to Reuters.

Yahoo, Twitter to boost up social features

San Francisco: Seeking to augment the appeal of its online properties with popular social networking features, Yahoo plans to integrate Twitter into its collection of websites. The partnership will allow web surfers to view the short, 140-character messages created by Twitter users, dubbed Tweets, directly within Yahoo sites as well as to publish their own Twitter messages without leaving Yahoo, reports Alexei Oreskovic from Reuters.

Hacker attacked Intel at same time as Google

San Francisco: Chip maker Intel has announced that it was a victim of a 'sophisticated' hacker attack this year at about the same time when Google was attacked. Intel disclosed the attack in a regulatory filing late on Monday. It doesn't necessarily mean that Intel was infiltrated or that the attackers were the same ones that targeted Google.
