Located in Tel Aviv, Israel, the team behind the e-Thought Viewer has been working on the technology for seven years. In 2004 after an initial proof of concept, the team received an undisclosed substantial amount of investment, enabling the full time research and testing of thought capture prototypes.
Jessica Korney, co-Founder along with Professor Weston stated “There were times when we were so very close, but the real breakthrough for us was the advancement in worldwide communication technology. When we began, we had all the ideas and even the proof of concept, but over the past seven years, communication technology has grown at such a turbo charged pace that, by the time we were ready to translate a thought wave and display the output, we really did have a solid choice of operational viewers.”
Professor Weston continued, “The early prototype resembled a large crown with over 100 probing pads and was placed over the entire head. Now, using similar technology to Bluetooth devices, the thought reading device is approximately the size of a hearing aid. Right now, as we approach public Beta testing we are not disclosing too much information until the Beta test is complete. We are looking to begin in January 2012 and launch the e-Thought Viewer into the marketplace by August 2012. Only accepted participants of the Beta program will have access to the hardware and software that make the e-Thought Viewer functional.”
Michael Katz, owner of Sociarati Media commented, “We are delighted at being selected by Professor Weston and Ms Korney to be their public relations arm and create the buzz around the Beta program. Utilizing our social media expertize we are looking at recruiting all Beta program participants through the newly created Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ethoughtviewer) and e-Thought Viewer website (http://www.ethoughtviewer.com). We strongly encourage everyone to share and tweet about the Beta program until we have 20,000 participants worldwide.”
