EDMI’s EWM100 advanced GSM/GPRS modem for smart metering applications is an industrial-grade machine-to-machine communications solution which provides robust GSM/GPRS connectivity between a utility’s operations center and individual power meters in the field. With secure, real-time communications, utilities can manage grids more efficiently, remotely control services, and support in-home energy management applications that empower consumers to change their consumption behavior and lower their costs.
The Peugeot Connect SOS/Citroën Localized Emergency Call system is designed to enable a cellular connection between a vehicle and an emergency call centre in the event of an accident. It can be activated manually, if the driver witnesses an accident for example, or automatically, when a shock, sufficient to trigger the eCall function, is detected by the pyrotechnic box (which drives airbags). By improving the response times of the emergency services, the Peugeot Connect SOS/Citroën Localized Emergency Call system has the potential to help reduce road fatalities and serious injuries.
RS TechMedic’s Dyna-Vision™ is a multi-purpose remote patient monitoring device. About the size of a PDA and carried by the patient on a belt, the unit uses non-invasive sensors attached to the skin, which measure up to 12 clinical parameters, including heart rate, respiration rate, plethysmogram (measurements of changes in blood volume), SpO2 (the patient’s oxygen saturation level) and skin temperature. Via the integrated Sierra Wireless AirPrime embedded module, the unit sends the diagnostic data to any remote physician or hospital in real time using a cellular network.
