Training magazine Events will host its Technology in Action (TIA) Conference and Awards at The eLearning GuildÂ’s DevLearn 2008 Conference & Expo, November 11-14 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, CA.
New York (May 21, 2008) – Training magazine Events will host its Technology in Action (TIA) Conference and Awards at The eLearning Guild’s DevLearn 2008 Conference & Expo, November 11-14 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, CA. This conference-within-a-conference strategy aims to help further the technology sector as it relates to training.
I can think of no better place to have our TIA Conference and Awards than the DevLearn 2008 Conference & Expo, said Joyceann Cooney-Garippa, TrainingÂ’s group publisher & show director, of the strategic move by the organizations. The DevLearn conference attracts the most seasoned and knowledgeable professionals focused on the design, development, and management of e-Learning. Our TIA Conference and Awards will help attendees further understand state-of-the-art technologies, strategies, and best-practices in order to effectively deploy them in their organizations. Through this conference-within-a-conference strategy we are bringing together senior training directors and managers with e-Learning designers and developers. Training magazine Events is delighted to be under one roof with The eLearning Guild.
We are thrilled to be working with Training magazine to bring the TIA Conference and Awards to DevLearn 2008 Conference & Expo, said David Holcombe, co-founder, president and CEO of The eLearning Guild. The integration of the TIA Conference with DevLearn 2008 will enhance our 100 + session program for e-Learning professionals at all levels by providing additional content focused specifically on the needs of senior management professionals.
To help kick off the DevLearn 2008 Conference & Expo, Training magazine will host a reception to honor the winners of its second annual TIA Awards, Tuesday evening, November 11. Winners will be chosen by a distinguished panel of training industry judges in various categories on the basis of purpose, vision, technology choices, alignment with learning strategy, implementation excellence, innovation, efficiency and/or business improvements, and learning impact/results.
Past winners included Allstate Life Insurance Company, Ameriprise Financial, Cisco Systems, Inc., New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc., Peace Corps, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sun Microsystems, among others.
Training magazine Events will develop eight concurrent sessions for its two and a half day TIA Conference from November 12, through noon Friday, November 14. Training and the eLearning Guild will also cross-promote registration to each otherÂ’s programming.
Hosting the TIA Conference is Bryan Chapman, chief learning strategist at Chapman Alliance, a provider of research-centric consulting solutions that assist organizations in defining, operating and optimizing their strategic learning initiatives. “I’ve had the opportunity to be involved with events hosted by both Training magazine and The eLearning Guild. What impresses me most about both groups is that their social-networking events attract the most passionate, loyal and dedicated learning professionals across a broad spectrum from practitioners to senior management. The real winners of this synergy will be DevLearn attendees, who will have additional opportunities to participate in the best-of-breed events offered by both groups, without having to attend two different conferences – all inclusive for the price of a single registration. I commend The eLearning Guild and Training magazine for joining forces to bring us this great event.
To coincide with this conference-within-a-conference strategy, Training will work with The e-Learning Guild on a special e-training supplement, to be polybagged with its September 2008 issue and with bonus distribution at the DevLearn Conference.
