Software training developer InfiniteSkills Inc is now offering an extended Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Tutorial Video course, targeted toward beginners interested in learning photo correction, organization and design skills. With 97 separate training lessons, the course provides a comprehensive guide to the program’s tools, settings and functionality in home user and small business workflows.
“Our Photoshop Elements tutorials have always been some of our most popular, because they show how to really get the most out of the software,” said Colin Boyd, sales director at InfiniteSkills. “With Elements 10, the training looks at the powerful features that match some of those found in Photoshop CS5, as well as the management options that CS5 just doesn’t have.”
Because Photoshop Elements 10 is divided in functionality between the Editor and the Organizer workspaces, these PS Elements tutorials introduce each major section and then drill down into specific functionality found within. After first introducing the overall interface, instructor Jerron Smith goes through importing, viewing and sorting photos with the software’s available tools. He shows how to create albums, tag and identify people and organize photos based on location and keywords. He also shows how to use the basic contrast, red eye, and color correction tools available in the photo viewer.
Next, the Photoshop Elements tutorials move into the many photo correction and design tools packaged within the Elements Editor. Viewers learn how to make guided and quick edits, adjust color and lighting, repair damaged photos and more. Special sections look at Camera RAW, teeth whitening, and using layers to make non-permanent changes to images onscreen. The Photoshop Elements 10 course then goes through graphics and painting tools in the program, before showing how all of these techniques can be combined to create customized greeting cards and picture packages. The final chapter shows how to quickly share images on the web from within the program.
“Jerron draws from his professional background to create a course that’s not just perfect for family photos, but can be applied in many professional roles, too,” said Chris Johns, content specialist for InfiniteSkills. “These tutorials prove again and again that you don’t need Photoshop CS5 to get real results.”
Jerron Smith is an author, educator, and multimedia artist who has written eight books on graphic design technology and helped hundreds of students through numerous workshops and classes. He is an Adobe Certified Expert in two different creative platforms, and he teaches computer graphics and video editing at the New York Institute of Technology.
The full Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Tutorial Video course can be ordered for $49.95 from the InfiniteSkills website. It comes on DVD-ROM or as a direct download, and both versions are fully compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems. Shipping and purchase options are available for customers worldwide.
