Built on WAVE, the industry’s leading interoperability platform, WAVE Communicator is integrated with Microsoft Lync, appearing as a panel within Lync 2010 and displaying available communication channels. These channels may include multiple two-way radio networks, push-to-talk mobile talk groups using smartphones or broadcast systems. When a Lync user wants to communicate with an individual or team they simply click on the appropriate WAVE communication channel and talk.
In addition to providing instant access to communications channels from within Lync 2010, WAVE Communicator has the ability to display presence information on a Bing map from GPS-supported devices such as smartphones and military and professional two-way radio systems. This capability is extremely important when it is essential to know where field resources are deployed and speaking with groups of users instantaneously is required.
WAVE Communicator is a key component of WAVE 5.2, the latest version of Twisted Pair’s award-winning critical communications platform. WAVE 5.2 also adds GPS-based location information from GPS-capable Motorola MOTOTRBO™ professional digital two-way radio systems and WAVE Mobile Communicators, as well as MOTOTRBO private call support from any WAVE Communicator.
