Beth Leipold, owner of evoplanning LLC will be hosting a birthday celebration on December 12, 2012 for the benefit of Ronald McDonald House of Akron. Debbie McKinney, owner of Time to Spare will serve as the event planner. The party will be held at St. George Family Center, Fairlawn, Ohio.
“With a birthday date that unique, I wanted to do something unique!” Beth said. She went on to say how when someone mentioned the special date a few years ago in passing she thought it would be fun to have a party. Though a celebration seemed like a good idea, she wanted it to bring meaning to others as well.
RMH of Akron endeared itself to Beth twenty years ago when her newborn daughter became very ill and was sent to neonatal at Akron Children’s Hospital when she was 8 days old. Though her family didn’t need to use the facilities at the House because they lived close by, an appreciation was sparked when she realized how it could help other families who didn’t live close to the hospital to keep them near their ill children. It’s a safe place that provides a sense of comfort in scary times.
In the years since, through her membership in Junior Women’s Civic Club, Mrs. Leipold has supported the House with donations of meals and desserts. She participated in the RMH Charity Golf Classic many times as both a volunteer, co-chair, and chair person of the event. It only seemed fitting to tie a birthday celebration to the House.
Guests are asked to bring 12 of something to the event. It could be 12 cans of soup, 12 boxes of brownie mix, etc. Ronald McDonald House will provide a wish list closer to the event. One can probably guess that the event will begin at 12:12 pm and last until 2:12 pm. It’s no surprise that ticket cost is $12.12 which includes an Italian buffet lunch, cake and punch.
