Unisys Federal Systems President Ted Davies Wins Federal 100 Award

BLUE BELL, Pa. Feb. 24, 2011 Federal Computer Week

Davies was recognized for his commitment to and success in delivering and applying information technology innovation and best practices to help government organizations accomplish their mission. Under Davies’ leadership, Unisys Federal Systems has helped government agencies capture the potential of new technologies such as cloud computing and mobile computing, while maintaining the security of their data, networks and operations.

Embracing the government’s "Cloud First" strategy, Davies led Unisys to a contract with the U.S. General Services Administration to deliver the federal government’s first enterprise-wide cloud-based software-as-a-service solution for e-mail and collaboration based on Google Apps – an initiative the government expects to yield a 50 percent savings over five years for the agency.

Unisys also announced in 2010 significant wins and successes at agencies such as the Department of Defense, the Department of Agriculture, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and NASA.

"It is humbling to be honored among the Federal 100 Award winners," said Davies. "I share this recognition with the talented and committed team at Unisys Federal Systems, who daily deliver insight, innovation and proven best practices to help government organizations carry out their missions. It is an honor for us all to serve the federal IT community."
