University HealthSystem Consortium Selects GHX for Supply Chain Automation and Services

GHX’s comprehensive supply chain management services meet the unique needs of UHC’s members, consisting of more than 100 academic medical centers and more than 200 affiliates. Through the GHX contract, they will have access to the latest supply chain technologies for health care providers, including:

  • Connectivity to the GHX exchange
  • Procurement and accounts payable automation
  • Content management capability
  • Data cleansing and analysis of relevancy, consistency, and completeness
  • Automation of procurement
  • Electronic invoicing

In addition, GHX provides customized consulting services, which include analysis of a hospital’s staff, processes, and technology. These solutions and services will enable UHC members to optimize their business processes, achieve greater cost savings, and drive efficiencies while delivering high-quality patient care.

UHC members will be able to leverage the agreement to obtain the following benefits:

  • The ability to easily identify noncontract purchase opportunities by comparing the contract data with the hospital purchase order history and item file data.
  • $730 million
  • The capability to validate prices, which will enable members to capitalize on early-pay discounts and ensure that the right price is being paid every time
  • Better control over nonfile and off-contract spending
  • Reduced invoice processing costs and cycle time, improved internal controls and productivity, and optimized cash flow
