The fax modem software consists of both transmission and receiving functions for symbol transfer in groups of 2 or 4 bits at rates of 2400 symbols per second respectively. It operates in either half or full duplex modes and has a "quick connect" feature.
Using the Group 3 fax (G3 fax) modulation technique, it offers fax data transfer at 9600 bps and 7200 bps on two-wire lines. The fax software is available for a number of DSP and microprocessors.
