WildBlue vs dial up rural America

Like it or not, Internet service is a necessity these days. I know for  many people who live in rural areas being able to access Internet service through their local cable DSL provider, or telephone provider is nearly impossible. Unfortunately, many people in rural America are unaware that WildBlue satellite Internet is just a phone call away.

I know some people who are stuck in the Stone Age and do not want to bother with a computer at all. But lets face it, nowadays kids are surfing the web in elementary school. My nine year old son knows how to navigate his way through cyberspace better then I could a couple of years ago. It’s not that teachers these days are too lazy to teach kids the old fashioned way, its just now they have more tools at their disposal.

I still think about the old days, which for me were the 1980’s and the first computer we ever had. It was huge not to mention ugly, had a black screen background and everything you typed was in a neon green color. Now you can purchase flat screen desktop computers that are just a screen with everything built in, or laptops that you can take anywhere.

1. Why pay for service that takes hours to download family pictures?
2. Why pay for a service that ties up your phone line?
3. Why go to a friend's house, or your local library to use the Internet?

The reality is,  technology is growing and we must all grow with it. So if you're still stuck with dial-up check out WildBlue, there is no need for a phone line and its available all across the United States!
