To help online retailers, in-store retailers, and supply chain professionals mitigate holiday season risk, Zurich today launched “Zurich HelpPoint for the Holidays,” a complimentary, customizable online risk guide designed by the insurer’s loss prevention specialists. “In addition to the in-store risks of holidays past—such as large crowds, slips, trips and falls, and theft—a recent study reflects that 69 percent of consumers plan to do some holiday shopping online this year,” said Armand Fernandez, chief risk engineering officer, Zurich Services Corporation. “Credit card fraud is a 365-day-a-year exposure that escalates during the holiday season. Whether a retailer sells in-store exclusively, online exclusively, or a combination of both, Zurich HelpPoint for the Holidays provides assistance for Black Friday and Cyber Monday risk planning.”
Zurich HelpPoint for the Holidays also includes guidelines for supply chain and logistics professionals. “While we know seasonal orders are processed and in transit, Zurich stresses that the best time for businesses to assess that their supply chain is adequately prepared for increased demand is ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday,” said Linda Conrad, director of Strategic Business Risk, Zurich Global Corporate. “Recent data reflects that more than 70 percent of organizations recorded at least one supply chain disruption in 2010, and 53 percent listed adverse weather as the main cause of disruption.” Zurich now offers supply chain insurance and assessment products in North America.
